Academic staff may recommend titles pertaining to their teaching and research areas. Please consult with the secretary office of each School for details. They may obtain the Book Recommendation Form from their own school secretary or download it from the Library homepage. All requisitions must be approved by the School Director and accepted by the Librarian after careful deliberation. In addition, a requested item must be affordable within the Library acquisition budget. Other users may also suggest new titles to the Library by filling in the "Library Materials Request Form." The form is available at the Circulation Counter or it can be downloaded from the Library homepage. Consideration of acceptance mainly depends on our collection development policy and the library budget.

The Computer Service Centre offering a WebVPN remote access service for all students, academic and administrative staff to access to the Library subscribed e-resources (such as e-databases, e-journals & e-books) from outside the MPI campus.

For using this service, you need to have a valid NetID & NetPassword (same as Novell Netware & Email), and it is required to change password once for WebVPN service activation.

After activation, please go to the link below and login by your NetID and NetPassword to access to the Library subscribed e-resources from outside the MPI campus.

All Library notices will be sent to users via email, including notices about on-hold items that you can pickup and overdue and alert notices. The Library sends these notices as a courtesy only. It is the users' responsibility to check the due dates of all of the loans.

Macao Polytechnic Institute has the cooperative protocols with the libraries listed below. MPI Library users may access to the cooperative libraries using a valid MPI staff card, student card, or Library card.

Self-service photocopying/printing is available in the Library. Readers may use the store value copier card or their ˇ§MacauPassˇ¨ smartcard to make photocopies and to print from network. The store value copier cards are available for purchase from the vending machines. Each blank card costs MOP10.00. Readers may add the desired value onto the card through the Coin Loading Unit. The amount and the times of value adding are unlimited. The charges for the self-service photocopying/printing are as below:

The Library has three study rooms and fourteen study cubicles for all MPI staff and students to do academic research or course-related study. Projection systems are also available in the Study Rooms. Full-time staff members and students may borrow a Notebook computer from the Library for use with the projection systems in the Study Rooms. Please consult with the Library staff about further questions.
